Camp Information

Auditions

• Each camper will audition with a staff member on the first day of camp. This is less of an audition and more of an evaluation so that we may place every student in the appropriate level ensemble.

• More details regarding camp auditions will be posted on the Audition's Page starting May 15th.

Closing Concert

• There will be a closing concert on the last day of camp starting at 6pm. Every student will perform in three ensembles; quartet, chamber, and camp ensemble. The concert will take place in the Westbrook auditorium.

Q. Who can attend Southern Star Saxophone Academy?

A. Camp is open to any saxophonist who just finished grades 6-12 (or at least 1 year of playing experience).

Q. How early can I drop my student off/ pick them up?

A. Camp starts at 8:30 and finishes at 4:30 everyday but Friday. Students can be dropped off starting at 8:00 and picked up no later than 5:00.

Q. Does camp provide lunch for students?

A. Lunch will NOT be provided.  Students should bring a sack lunch each day.

Q. What is the cost of the camp?

A. Camp is $350 if you register before May 15th and $400 if you register after May 15th. There is an installment plan available to make camp more affordable, you may make two separate payment; $200 for the first payment and $150 for the second payment if the second payment is made by May 15th. If the second payment is made after May 15th it will be $200.
